In 2008 I wandered into a Kundalini yoga class—I hated it soo much—I went back every week. I was fascinated by the teacher and the weird things I experienced during the classes. There was the night I flew through the universe while I was in child’s pose or the time when I was a part of an Irish bunny funeral procession…I was hooked.
I became friends with my teacher and she gave me a glimpse into the transformation world, opening my mind to alternative ideas and practices. Eventually, I branched out into other forms of yoga where they said standing on your head was a good thing…I laughed out loud! (A couple of years later I could stand on my head!)
I started looking at what was going on in my life, diving deeper into self-help/growth — books, podcasts, workshops, retreats, and one of my faves — personality tests.
In 2017, I got the opportunity to attend Kundalini yoga teacher training. I am always up for learning more so I was in—but I was NEVER going to teach yoga! The training changed my life, not only was I in better physical shape than I’d been in years, I was meditating at least an hour a day, and a good amount of my anger had disappeared. My mind—completely blown.
I’ve always called myself a seeker—I just didn’t know I was looking for me. The journey continues.
Oh and by the way if you are ever in Cañon City, CO—I teach yoga—on Sundays, 10am at Cañon Yoga…come try a class…if you dare…
